Michael Gibbons Michael Gibbons is president and CEO of Mainstreet Ventures Inc., a regional restaurant chain that began as a single restaurant he founded in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Mainstreet’s restaurant portfolio currently features nine diverse restaurant concepts operating in Michigan, Florida, Ohio and West Virginia. These include Real Seafood Co., Ristorante Gratzi, Blue Pointe Seafood, Palio Ristorante, La Dolce Vita, Tidewater Grill, Ciao, Chop House, Zia’s, Carson’s American Bistro and Carson’s Steakhouse, many at multiple locations. Gibbons is a member of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation Board of Trustees. He has toured dining facilities in U.S. Air Force bases worldwide as a part of a four-person team in a quest to earn the coveted Air Force foodservice operations award, the John L. Hennessy trophy. A former president of the Michigan Restaurant Association, Mr. Gibbons has received its highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award. He also has received recognition as the 2001 Northwest Ohio Entrepreneur of the Year. Active in the Chambers of Commerce where many of his units are located, Gibbons and his restaurants support many charitable organizations. These include the YMCA, Neighborhood Senior Services, The Ability Center of Greater Toledo and Hospice. He also has shared his skills as a teacher and advisor in local community colleges. |
